This document transparently describes how cmoncamping.com collects, uses and protects your personal data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act (loi Informatique et Libertés).

1. Data controller

2. What data we collect, and why

a) Website Visitors

When you use the contact form contact or of quote request on a campsite listing, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message (stay dates, number of guests, accommodation type if provided). This information is sent to the relevant campsite to handle your enquiry, and a copy is emailed to you. It is retained for as long as necessary to process the request.

b) Campsite managers

If you create a management account (by registering directly or by claiming an existing listing), we collect your first name, surname, email address and password (stored in encrypted form, never in plain text). These details are used to manage your access to the management area and your establishment's listing.

c) Campsite Listings

The public information of listed campsites (name, address, telephone, email, website, description, photos, facilities) comes either from the manager directly, or from public professional sources (operator registers, official establishment websites) when the listing was created by our team before being claimed by its manager. This data relates to professional establishments, not private individuals. Any manager may at any time request the amendment or removal of their listing by contacting us, or simply by replying to the invitation email they received.

d) AI assistant (manager chat)

The conversational assistant in the management area uses the API of an artificial intelligence provider (Anthropic) to interpret your requests and respond to you. Messages exchanged in this chat are transmitted to this provider to generate the response, and are retained in your conversation history to ensure continuity of exchanges.

e) Subscription payments

Payment for paid plans is handled entirely by our provider Stripe. We never store your banking details: Stripe only sends us a technical subscription identifier and the information required for invoicing.

3. Legal bases for processing

Depending on the situation: performance of a contract (management account, subscription), legitimate interest (listing of professionals in a directory, service improvement), consent (non-essential cookies), or legal obligation (billing).

4. Retention period

Account data is retained for as long as the account is active, then archived or deleted within a reasonable period after closure. Contact/quote requests are retained for as long as necessary to process them. Billing data is retained in accordance with legal accounting obligations (10 years).

5. Who has access to your data

Your data are not never sold. They may be shared with the technical service providers required to operate the service:

• o2switch (website and database hosting, France)
• Mailgun (sending and receiving emails)
• Stripe (payment processing)
• Anthropic (AI assistant for the manager's area)
• Google (audience measurement, with your consent only — see the cookie policy)

Some of these service providers are based outside the European Union (including the United States); they are contractually bound by standard contractual clauses ensuring an adequate level of protection for your data.

6. Security

The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), hashed passwords (never stored in plain text), protection against common attacks (CSRF, injection), and rate limiting on sensitive forms.

7. Your rights

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to, and port your data. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@cmoncamping.com or via our contact form. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
